Biography
Christoph Staerkle was born in 1952 and grew up in
Lucerne. Besides his training at the Ecole de Mime, Théâtre et Mouvement",
Jacques Lecoq in Paris, and Teatro dei Gesti e Mimi", Roy Bosier in Rome he
also works indefatigably on his own endlessly renewable solo show which characterizes his
artistic flair.
He completed his first theatre season with immense
success, and besides his appearances he also works independently as mime teacher for
workshops at national and international mime festivals. For many years, he has appeared as
special guest at theatres and festivals, for film and television all over Europe and has
inspired critics and audiences alike with his humour.
Christoph Staerkle has been given numerous awards
at national and international mime festivals. He won first in Brünn at the International
Mime festival, followed by the Art and Culture Prize Lucerne and the first Prix du
Festival de Rire" in Vevey as well as the Wiener Kleinkunstpreis Hugo93"
in Vienna. |
